Today's writing
The kettle clicked off and I kept typing anyway. It's strange how the first sentence takes longer than the next ten. Once the words start, they mostly want to keep going
The clock only moves while you write. Stop for four seconds and it waits for you.
Only writing counts
Pick a daily goal in minutes. The timer runs while you type and pauses four seconds after you stop, so looking out the window doesn't count.
Your own words
No pasting and no dictation. Every minute on the clock is a minute you spent putting words down.
Yesterday stays written
At 4am the day closes. Past days can be read and exported as Markdown, but never edited.
Private by design
Your writing lives on your Mac. Optional cloud sync is encrypted before it leaves, with a key only you hold.
Free to write. Pay only if you want sync.
The whole app is free, for as long as you use it. Cloud sync is an optional extra you can add from the app any time.

What leaves your Mac
Nothing, unless you turn on cloud sync. With sync on, each day is encrypted on your Mac with a key unlocked only by your passphrase or recovery key. The server stores only ciphertext, filed under opaque IDs instead of dates, so it never sees your words. You sign in with a code sent to your email; there is no password to leak.
